Winter Day Camp 2024-2025

Inspiring students to use their creativity and imagination to create art, as well as learning technical skills.

Winter Art Camp:

Jan 2nd, 3rd

Location: 9 Ivanhoe Drive, Markham ON

Current Students 10% off 

Current CGA students who have attended a minimum of 4 consecutive classes at the time of camp registration are eligible for an additional 10% discount. Please note that no other coupons or discounts can be combined with this offer.

Age Group: 
Our programs are for children aged from 4-18 years old. We will group children according to their age.

 In Studio Camp: 
All materials are included. For Full Day students, lunch break is from 12:00pm – 12:45pm. With 15 minute snack breaks at 10:30am and 2:30pm.

Portfolio Preparation:
Students can also prepare for their portfolio during winter camp weeks. You can register for Portfolio in the registration link  




Winter Camp Packages:

Single Drop-In (Half Day): $75.00 + HST
Access to one half-day session (morning: 9 AM – 12 PM or afternoon: 1 PM – 4 PM).

Camp Day PASS: $140.00 + HST
Register for one full camp day (9 AM – 4 PM) or two half-day sessions.

Camp Half-Day Week PASS: $350.00 + HST
Register for five half-day sessions of camp. Choose either the morning (9 AM – 12 PM) or afternoon (1 PM – 4 PM) sessions.

Camp Full-Day Week PASS: $560.00 + HST
Register for five full days of camp (9 AM – 4 PM each day)

Before and After Care:
8:30 am-5:00 pm: $30 +HST/day
 

Hours:
Full Day:  9:00am – 4:00pm
Half Day (AM): 9:00am – 12:00pm
Half Day (PM): 1:00pm – 4:00pm

To complete your registration, please purchase the appropriate pass package from our Amilia Store. Once purchased, you can use the pass package to schedule your camp sessions.

Dec 23rd: Winter Creatures and their Habitats
Ages: 4-9 
In this winter art camp, children will be introduced to winter animals like polar bears, penguins, and snow owls through fun stories and visuals, creating colorful paintings, drawings, and sculptures. They’ll also explore snowy habitats using mixed media, learning in playful ways how these animals survive the cold. Through hands-on projects, campers will experiment with textures to recreate icy landscapes and cozy animal dens. By the end of the camp, they will have a deeper appreciation for wildlife and the beauty of nature in winter, along with their own animal-themed artwork to display

Ages 10-18
The camp delves deeper into winter ecosystems and animal adaptations, focusing on creatures such as snow leopards, arctic foxes, and narwhals. They will engage in more detailed artwork, including advanced sculptures and mixed media projects that capture the complexity of winter environments, while also discussing the impact of climate change and the delicate balance of these ecosystems. Students get to explore their art with both traditional and digital mediums.

Dec 27th:  Artists and their Styles
Ages 4-9
Young campers will tap into their inner artist as they explore the vibrant world of renowned artists. Through engaging, hands-on activities, they will discover various art styles, including the vibrant works of Van Gogh, Leonardo De Vincci and Mondrian. This theme nurtures a love for art, building children’s confidence as they express themselves in a supportive environment. By experimenting with different techniques and materials, they will also develop a deeper appreciation for the creative process. 

Ages 10-18
Campers will immerse themselves in the captivating world of renowned artists and their distinctive styles. Through interactive workshops, they will learn and experiment with the techniques of famous artists like Van Gogh and Mondrian. Art history lessons will deepen their understanding of how various artists and movements have shaped the world of art. Campers will also have the opportunity to explore their creativity using both traditional and digital mediums, broadening their artistic skills. By combining theory and practice, they will develop a well-rounded appreciation for the arts. In the process, they will gain confidence in expressing their own unique artistic visions

Dec 30th:  Storytelling Through Art
Ages 4-9
In this enchanting winter art camp, children aged 4-9 will discover the magic of visual storytelling through fun and engaging activities. Campers will create their own comic book panels and craft storybook illustrations, allowing their creativity to flow through both words and images. This theme encourages young artists to become storytellers, sharing their unique narratives with the world in a playful and imaginative way. As they develop their stories, they will learn about character design, composition, and the power of visual expression.

Ages 10-18
The winter art camp will delve deeper into the art of visual storytelling. Campers will learn to convey more complex narratives and emotions through their artwork, exploring advanced techniques in sequential art and illustrations. They will create detailed comic book panels and engaging storybook illustrations, immersing themselves in the creative process. This theme will empower them to express their unique stories through their artistic creations, enhancing their skills and confidence as storytellers. Students get to explore their art with both traditional and digital mediums. 

Dec 31st: Modern Winter Abstracts
Ages: 4-9 years old
Campers will step into the contemporary art world by exploring modern winter abstracts through fun and creative activities. They will experiment with non-traditional and abstract art techniques, learning to express the essence of winter in unique ways. Using bold, expressive brushwork and playful geometric shapes, young artists will create their own abstract interpretations of winter landscapes, emotions, and experiences. Through a mix of traditional materials and experimental mediums, campers will push the boundaries of their creativity. By the end of the camp, they will have gained a deeper understanding of abstract art and its limitless possibilities

Age 10-18
Campers will delve deeper into the realm of contemporary art and modern winter abstracts. They will engage in creating abstract interpretations of winter landscapes, utilizing bold brushwork and intricate geometric shapes. This theme will challenge them to think critically and creatively, encouraging them to produce compelling abstract artworks that reflect their individual perspectives on the season in fresh and exciting ways.

Jan 2nd: Festivities Around the World
Ages: 4-9 years old

Campers will travel the globe without leaving the studio by celebrating colorful winter festivities from around the world. They will explore the traditions, colors, and symbols of various winter holidays, such as Diwali in India and Hanukkah in Israel. Through fun art activities like painting and craft-making, young artists will create their own representations of these global celebrations. This theme encourages campers to learn about different cultures while fostering a sense of togetherness and understanding

Age 10-18
Campers will provide a deeper exploration of diverse winter festivities from around the world. Campers will examine the traditions, colors, and symbols associated with various cultural celebrations, learning about their rich heritage. This theme will foster a greater appreciation for cultural diversity and the spirit of togetherness, encouraging campers to connect with and reflect on the significance of these winter celebrations. Students get to explore their art with both traditional and digital mediums. 

Jan 3rd: Fantasy Adventure Art
Ages: 4-9 years old

In this winter art camp, children aged 4-9 will embark on an exciting journey through the realms of imagination and creativity. They will dive into the world of fantasy, where they can create magical creatures and enchanted landscapes through their artwork. Young artists will be inspired by stories and characters from fantasy literature, designing their own mythical creatures and crafting imaginative worlds. This theme encourages campers to let their imaginations soar, creating fantastical adventures filled with wonder and magic.

Age 10-18
Campers will provide a more in-depth exploration of fantasy realms through their artwork. Campers will delve into the creative process of designing intricate mythical creatures and crafting detailed landscapes inspired by fantasy literature and art. This theme will challenge them to think critically and artistically, allowing them to develop their unique visions of fantastical worlds. By encouraging them to push the boundaries of their imagination, this experience will inspire participants to create epic adventures filled with magic and creativity. Students get to explore their art with both traditional and digital mediums.
